DÉA SELF

Déa Self (b.1977, Bull Shoals, Arkansas) lives and works in South Fayetteville, Arkansas. She received her BFA from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Working with oil paint on wood panels, she is inspired by the Ozark landscape and the plants that take over her house in the winter. Her paintings combine linear elements with the painterly, using both to investigate the conundrums of composition layer by layer.

Past group exhibitions include Rite of Spring at Sequoyah Hall, Fayetteville, AR May 2024; Our Art, Our Region, Our Time at the Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville, AR 2022 and 2023; Home at Local Color Gallery in Fayetteville, AR 2022; Regarding the Horizon at PHGallery in West Fork, AR 2022; and solo exhibits at Arsagas Mill in Fayetteville, AR and 21C Hotel in Bentonville, AR
